The Community Fund provides a convenient method for donating to a variety of causes within Leadville and Twin Lakes. The fund also can serve as a fiscal agent for entities that are unable to provide tax-deductible receipts to donors.

Andrew’s Heavenly Horse Rescue
Andrew’s Heavenly Horse Rescue, set against the beautiful backdrop of Leadville, is dedicated to transforming the lives of horses, donkeys, goats, dogs, cats, and other animals in need through rescue and rehabilitation. While ensuring a nurturing environment, we focus on providing care to animals who have experienced neglect, abuse, or abandonment. Our mission is to offer each animal a safe haven where they can heal and thrive, and to work towards finding them loving, permanent homes. For those who are unable to be adopted, we ensure a peaceful and supportive sanctuary for their entire lives. We are committed to making a positive impact on the lives of these animals and advocating for their well-being.
Blue Elements
Blue Elements’ mission is to cultivate watershed stewardship and connect communities to the value of their natural resources. Through education, expeditions, and volunteerism, we work to uncover the deeper connections between humans and nature via the transformative power of the river.

Broken Arrows Rodeo Committee
Our mission is to bring a regularly scheduled rodeo to Lake County, thus providing our community with awareness of and opportunity to embrace our ranching history. These events will give our 4‑H youth a place to share their projects with the community and will further teach them leadership and organizational skills.

Cloud City Curling Club
The main objective is to positively impact the Lake County community through the sport of curling. Curling is a fun, social sport that emphasizes sportsmanship and can be enjoyed by people of all ages and abilities. We are supported by a strong volunteer base. We believe curling is a great addition to outdoor winter recreation options and with increased resources we can make it available to more members of the community.

Desert Mountain Medicine
Desert Mountain Medicine is a women-owned small business founded and run in Leadville, Colorado. DMM’s mission is to provide innovative wilderness medical training with an emphasis on risk assessment and prevention. As a leading provider of Wilderness Medicine Education,we strive to make decisions and connect with our students and the larger communities we’re a part of in ways that support the cultivation of a more diverse, equitable, inclusive, and just world for all people.
We recognize the barriers traditionally excluded groups have faced in accessing wilderness medicine education and, therefore, wilderness recreation and career opportunities within the outdoor industry. DMM is committed to reducing barriers and creating spaces of belonging for traditionally excluded groups through our programming.
We’re translating our curriculum into Spanish and training native speaking instructors; we’re creating pathways for the BIPOC/LGBTQ+ communities to teach and learn with us; we foster safe and empowering learning spaces through our Women’s Wild Med Program; and we’re preparing Colorado youth to explore their near and far wildernesses and develop careers in the outdoor industry through the High School Wild Med Initiative.

Disaster Relief Fund
The Community Disaster Relief Fund helps strengthen our community and respond immediately to crisis situations such as the current novel coronavirus (COVID-19). The Fund distributions are determined by Lake County Office of Emergency Management and Lake County Public Health with consultation from Lake County Human Services.

Greater Good Community Acupuncture
Greater Good Community Acupuncture is a mission driven, socially conscious, healthcare entity that increases access to affordable, inclusive, and effective acupuncture treatments in the Lake County region. Our clinic-based treatments are provided in a group setting, on a sliding scale ($25-$45). Acupuncture works best when people can receive it on a regular basis, and it is our mission to make it as accessible to as many people as possible.
This fund further increases access by providing free or “pay what you can” clinic-based care for lower-income community members with chronic physical and/or mental health conditions, and through capacity building for free, 5 Needle Protocol (5NP) clinics in Lake County. 5NP is used in community settings to support trauma recovery, addiction recovery, chronic pain relief, anxiety, depression, and more. This fund will help launch 5NP clinics, and train more Auricular Acupuncture Technicians to increase community access.

Heather’s Fund
Heather’s Fund was created to serve and protect youth in need of mental and behavioral support by providing a healing and secure therapeutic environment in a beautiful indoor/outdoor space. In this sanctuary, regional youth will begin their healing journey by first feeling safe. From there, they will learn to thrive, be brave, and embrace a wholehearted life.
Irish Network Colorado
Leadville Irish Miners’ Memorial established by Irish Network Colorado
Please consider supporting this effort to honor the memory of more than 1,300 Irish immigrants who came to Colorado in search of a better life, who died here trying to find it, and who deserve not to be forgotten. Do something in this life for those who were forgotten in a former life.

Lake County Early Care and Education Fund
The Lake County Early Care and Education Fund’s Mission is to support and promote licensed high-quality early care and education programs in Lake County. This fund supports our overarching goal of sustainable funding and high-quality early childhood education for all of the children and families in Lake County.
Lake County Open Space Initiative
The Lake County Open Space Initiative was formed at the invitation of the Lake County Board of County Commissioners and represents a diverse stakeholders’ group with a common interest in community sustainability and preserving the intrinsic, natural, recreational, and cultural resources of the Upper Arkansas River Watershed.

Lake County Search & Rescue
Lake County Search and Rescue is entirely composed of volunteers from Leadville, Colorado. We are passionate skiers, snowboarders, hikers, rafters, runners, bikers, guides, and explorers. We are also paramedics, EMTs, mechanics, police officers, librarians, writers, engineers, and utility providers. Our love for the outdoors extends to helping other backcountry adventurers. Our training includes avalanche rescue, swift water rescue, wilderness response, medical first aid, wildland firefighting, rope rescue, SCUBA, mental health assistance, and situational awareness. We primarily operate in backcountry settings, but we also deploy in the front country and provide mutual aid to other counties. Our team operates under the Incident Command System, at the direction of the Lake County Sheriff’s Office and in partnership with the Lake County Office of Emergency Management.

SHIELD616 was founded to provide all-day rifle protection for peace officers and first responders who sacrificially serve our communities. Our goal at SHIELD616 is to support local law enforcement communities and first responders throughout the nation. “We exist to make Kingdom impacts by protecting and serving those who serve and protect.”

Lake County Volleyball Club
The mission of the Lake County Volleyball Club, located in Leadville, CO, is to provide the opportunity for young girls in the community to be a part of a challenging and rewarding sports program. The girls not only learn skills from respected coaches; they also build lifelong relationships with teammates and learn how to work together to achieve common goals. The Lake County High School volleyball team is improving every year, and is becoming a force to be reckoned with in our region.
The Lake County Volleyball Club, for middle school players, is a key development opportunity that will directly impact the future of the high school program and provide an athletic opportunity many of our girls do not typically have access to.
Leadville Dance Collective
Lake County’s premiere dance school promotes social-emotional development for students of all ages through dance education and performance opportunities. Our classes are held in a safe, accessible studio environment. We aim to remove barriers so that everyone can develop a great love of dance, while inspiring self-confidence, discipline, community and a passion for the performing arts.
Leadville Lions Club
The Leadville Lions Club is a service organization dedicated to serving our local community through various projects and events throughout the year. Community members can purchase Safeway Cards and 5% of the proceeds are donated back to the Lions Club. The Lions Club awards grants and scholarships to school district teachers.

Lideres Latinx Leadville
Lideres Latinx Leadville is a group of people from different nationalities who have committed to the work of social justice in favor of the immigrants in Lake County. Currently, funds are being raised to support DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) training and applications. Lideres Latinx supports the Spanish-speaking immigrant community in Lake County by facilitating their integration into a new culture and providing information and resources.

Project Dream
Project Dream through the Lake County School District (LCSD) serves students K-12 and encompasses After School, Friday, and Summer programs. After School – Project Dream takes place Monday-Thursday when school is in session after school hours. Friday – Project Dream programs take place on most Fridays throughout the school year. All programs include: social-emotional learning, academic enrichment, athletics, club programs, and activities with local partner organizations. LCSD challenges students to reach their fullest potential through personal, engaged and rigorous learning in the classroom and beyond. Through Project Dream we engage families, school staff and our community to provide students with a variety of enriching activities, positive relationships in a Crew-like setting, and tools for greater social-emotional and academic success, all designed to complement the students’ school day.

Sacred Space Films
The documentary, working title “Echoes of the West – A Legacy of Resilience,” will explore the thread of tenacity common to the early settlers of the Upper Arkansas River Valley, including the miners, merchants, ranchers, and cowboys, to the more recent endurance athletes to the residents who are, against many odds, helping to redefine the region while restoring and preserving parts of the past.
Proceeds will be donated to various organizations consistent with the theme of the film, such as the Tabor Opera House and Broken Arrows Rodeo and 4-H club.
Tree of Sharing
Tree of Sharing is a volunteer and donation-based organization serving the Leadville/Twin Lakes area. We purchase gifts with donated funds and distribute the gifts to families in need during the holiday season. The project’s success is dependent on the generosity of Lake County residents, services, and private organizations.
