Grecia is the lead consultant for Líderes Latinx, a local organization dedicated to serving the Spanish-speaking immigrant community in Lake County. Through her role with Líderes Latinx, Grecia focuses on strategic growth, financial management, fundraising, operational support, and advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion to empower Latinx leaders and communities.
“I am deeply honored to join the Lake County Community Fund Board and am eager to contribute to its vital work supporting our diverse community. As an immigrant who has experienced both the challenges and opportunities of life in Leadville, I am passionate about ensuring that every voice, especially those from underrepresented groups, is heard, valued, and uplifted. I look forward to working together to build a stronger, more inclusive future for all.” said Grecia.
Grecia was born in El Salvador and moved to Leadville at the age of 16. She graduated from Lake County High School and earned an Associate’s Degree in health science from Colorado Mountain College as a first-generation college student. Her professional journey has taken her through various industries, including consulting work in the log home industry and the cleaning industry, with her own business, Synergo Consultancy, where she serves as a consultant and translator.
In addition to her consulting work, Grecia supports a local school through volunteer efforts at Cloud City High School, assisting with classroom organization and contributing to broader community initiatives like the One Community Project. Recently, she served on the We Love Lake County Community Dinner organizing committee.
“The Lake County Community Fund is thrilled to welcome Grecia to our Board of Directors,” said LCCF Board President Melissa Kendrick. “Her lived experience as an immigrant, her ties to our local schools, and her language skills bring a unique perspective as we work to provide for the sustainable future of our diverse community.”
“Our Board members and I welcome Grecia Castillo to our organization,” said John McMurtry, Executive Director. “With her roles serving Líderes Latinx and supporting our schools, she will be a tremendous asset in addressing the important issues in Lake County.”
