Candy Elkind has been a professional fundraiser for almost 20 years. She is originally from Philadelphia, PA but moved to Summit County, Colorado in February 2013 to advance her career in creating her own fundraising and development consulting firm and explore what the majestic Rocky Mountains have to offer. She has come to love the great outdoors more than ever and expand her fundraising skills in the process.
During her fundraising career, she has worked for a number of small grassroots organizations around the United States and in Guayaquil, Ecuador. Her recent clients include Colorado Mountain College, Summit Historical Society, Wounded Heroes Family Adventures, The Summit Foundation, Animal Rescue of the Rockies, Breckenridge Outdoor Education Center, Outdoor Mindset, Breckenridge Music Festival, and the Summit County Community Care Clinic in Summit County, CO; The Challenge Foundation and LiveWell Colorado in Denver; and Paradox Sports in Boulder. Collectively she has raised millions of dollars over her career to advance the programs and services of the organizations she serves.
She also has served as a board member for The Summit County Library Foundation, which was responsible for the capital campaign for the new Breckenridge Grand Vacations Library and Community Center.
Candy holds a B.A. from Cedar Crest College in Communication Studies and minor in Spanish and Political Science, a Master’s degree in Philanthropy and Development from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota, and a Non-Profit Management Certificate Degree from the University of Pennsylvania. Her passions include the endurance sport of triathlons, alpine and nordic skiing, most snow sports, and hiking/climbing most 14ers. She has two awesome dogs, Monroe and Roo.
